Rs. 1800 crore investment is awaiting for Visakhapatnam port

The bid proposal for 3 main projects in Visakhapatnam port had been started this week. The total project is estimated at Rs. 1800 crore. The bid proposal will be segregated in the following ways :-

The bids for extension of box terminal, which include an investment of INR 633 crore, were opened on Wednesday. The bids for automation and development of existing facilities at iron ore handling complex (OHC) and West Quay North (WQ-7 and 8 berths) will be unlocked on Thursday.

As per the amended estimates, the OHC and WQ North projects require an investment of INR 845 crore and INR 393 crore correspondingly. The cargo mix for WQ North berths is to be utilized for dealing with mass cargoes ranging from bauxite, gypsum, blast furnace slag, manganese and other categories of ore.

Future Group’s supply chain is building 9 distribution center worth Rs 130 crore

Future group supply chain is going to invest Rs. 130 crore for developing 9 distribution centre in India. Besides fulfilling its own warehousing requirements, these centers will also serve for other retailers and FMCG companies.

Future supply chain already launched a distribution center in Nagpur which will strengthen and fulfill the needs of Big Bazaar & Future Supply Chain Solutions. The high tech warehouse situated at the Multi-Modal International Hub Airport in Nagpur (Mihan) Special Economic Zone has the capacity for quick processing superior inventory and cost reduction for the group.

The future supply chain, a joint venture involving Hong Kong-based trading firm, Li & Fung and the Future Group, is also planning to set up nine distribution centres in other major cities ranging from Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore.

JICA from Japan signed a mou with Indian Govt. to provide a loan of Rs 11,400-cr

A loan agreement is signed up between Indian Government and The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a Japan based funding agency for getting a soft loans up to a total of 1,99,035 million yen (about Rs 11,400 crore).

The total loan will be provided for 3 major projects in India. Out of total loan 1,36,119 million yen (68%) is sanctioned for the set up of a dedicated rail freight corridor connecting Delhi and Mumbai. The project is project has been awarded to the Ministry of Railways and the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd.

24% of total load amounting to 48,691 million yen will be distributed for the Chennai’s metro rail project. The remaining portion of the total loan amounting to 14,225 million yen will be sanctioned for the Piped Water Supply Project in Purulia district of West Bengal to arrange water supply facilities for allocating secure and sufficient drinking water to the residents of the area.

Electronic Toll Collection System will start in all toll plazas in the country

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is determined to introduce Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) over all the toll plazas situated at National Highways on all over the country within 31st March 2014.

ETC is an unique system and through which collection of toll payment will be performed electronically. It will definitely speed up the process for collection. It will facilitate near-not stop toll collection and supervise the traffic system by integrating transponders (electronic tags), wireless communication, in-road/roadside and a automated system with all the commercial vehicles.

In order to materialize the proposal , MoRTH is going to call an e-tender following it with pilot project. MoRTH also plans to assign national highway network on maps so that it can be accessed through mobile gadgets and applied for highway network.
